Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

¼ cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup cold water

2 cups mixed red fruits (strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and red currants)

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

In a food processor, combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the chilled butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Gradually add cold water, mixing until the dough just comes together. Form into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the mixed red fruits, brown sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Gently toss to coat the fruits evenly.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a circle about 1/8 inch thick. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Spoon the fruit mixture into the center of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border.

Fold the edges of the dough over the fruit, pleating as needed to create a rustic look. Brush the exposed dough with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the fruit is bubbly.

Allow the tart to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.

Prep Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes | Servings: 8 slices

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve warm or at room temperature on a rustic wooden board, garnished with fresh mint leaves or additional red berries for a lovely touch.
